Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in accounting practice or public multinational companies in process improvements.
- Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management in this region.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in an audit function with knowledge of local financial, tax and compliance requirements in India.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.
- Experience in SQL and spreadsheet management.
- Understanding of accounting principles including the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. (US GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and related international accounting standards.
- Ability to manage a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, high degree of attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Ability to lead operational initiatives and work in a cross-functional fluid environment.

Responsibilities
Assume ownership of the accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of all controllership processes for Google Payments in the APAC region and Payment entities in APAC.
- Build relationships with regional and functional partners to ensure scalable solutions. Drive the global agenda for eliminating, automating, standardizing external processes to deliver efficiencies and improved controls.
- Ensure all month-end and year-end reporting within statutory/agreed timelines, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements and filing deadlines are met. Work with external providers to review work and implement new initiatives.
- Identify potential areas of risk and develop risk management solutions.
- Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual close presentations for accounting and controls management, and collaborate with global Business Finance and Controllership teams to ensure consistency and efficiency across presentations.
