Job Description
Amazon seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to play a key role on the Mexico Amazon Transportation Finance team. The role comprises of: - Building complex financial models and analytical tools to support ongoing business evaluation.
- Providing financial oversight and controllership related to both internal business development and external partner terms/agreements.
- Work with tax, accounting, technology teams to create financial processes to support new logistics capabilities.
- Facilitating regular financial reviews with business leadership and other key stakeholders.
- Collecting, analyzing and managing quantitative data and creating meaningful analyses
- Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting the Transportation team improve and create new measures for productivity
- Manage the development all planning, forecasting, and reporting models and their continuous innovation
- Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely.
Ability to access and synthesize large data sets will be crucial for success in this role. Amazon finance teams work closely with their business partners, so any candidate should be able to work well with cross functional teams.

Basic Qualifications


- 6+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting (or similar fields)
- English Advanced
- 6+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications


- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
