Head of Marketing, Global Selling South Korea, Amazon Global Selling
Job Description
As Head of Marketing for Global Selling South Korea, you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment supporting business growth within South Korea. You will be responsible for driving brand awareness and consideration of selling on Amazon’s global marketplaces across channels, and increasing business penetration, driving demand for Amazon solutions through integrated marketing campaigns, enabling seller success on Amazon through Seller education and product marketing, collaborating with Public Policy team to influence government authorities, and working directly with strategic partners to support favorable cross border ecommerce programs and policies.
You will lead and develop a S. Korea-based marketing team, meanwhile work with other functions within the country, and marketing functions in other Asian countries.
Key job responsibilities
• Accountable for Amazon Global Selling S. Korea marketing strategy, develop annual planning and execute with excellence across branding, demand generation, product marketing and Strategic Partner marketing. Partner with business leaders, other Marketing teams, Seller Education, Public Policy, Public Relationship, etc. in implementing key initiatives in S. Korea.
• Enhance marketing process, infrastructure, and technology. Work closely with Global, China and Asia expansion teams to advocate for needs of S. Korea, and understand how to leverage tools created centrally for optimal results.
• Lead key reviews with S. Korea and Asia senior leaders on marketing strategy, performance, key initiatives proposal etc.
• Actively enhance and raise the bar on all marketing tactics including brand marketing, social and digital marketing, demand generation, partner marketing etc., and ensure operational compliance.
• Create and own goals and performance metrics for branding and demand generation campaigns. Monitor regularly to understand effectiveness of strategy and execution, and iteration for continuous improvement.
• Participate as key stakeholder with the seller consultant/biz leadership in the region and geography, contribute in business annual planning, quarterly review etc. and offers ongoing updates to key stakeholder’s teams on marketing key initiatives as appropriate.
• Lead certain cross-Asian countries initiatives.
• Hire, develop and coach the marketing team that executes on all aspects of marketing plans. Provides guidance and support to ensures the team members’ success on their marketing roles. Engage in activities that also develop the talents in other teams such as coaching, training and mentoring.

In recent Amazon letter to Shareholder, the Global Selling program (enabling SMBs to sell products across national borders) grew by over 50%. Each year, tens of thousands of businesses join the marketplace adding millions of new products. Amazon’s vision is to offer the earth’s largest product selection and lowest prices for our customers. One way we deliver on this vision is by marketing to local country Sellers to persuade them to launch their products onto the platform thereby maximizing the quantity of items that they list while ensuring the highest quality of product images and information.
Basic Qualifications
- BS/BE in business, marketing, or technology are mandatory. Experience in Global e-commerce and/or Consumer/Beauty Products industry.
- Proven track record with 10+ years marketing experience, specifically in running a Korean marketing organization and managing a team for an enterprise company that closely work with their global/regional HQs.
- Experience in marketing B2B products or services in S. Korea.
- A career path that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and proven success delivering measurable marketing results and building a strong field marketing team.
- Proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less, and a track record of staying on budget and delivering programs on time.
- Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
- Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high quality deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English with an innate attention to data and details.
