## **About The Team**
The Payments team is a core function and critical enabler of the full power of Uber’s platform. Uber’s payment functions are central to the overall success of our entire organisation with operations in over 60 countries and multi-billion in annual payments.
Uber Taiwan, a star market for Uber, offers payment services to Uber and fulfils two main roles in the payment process;
1. Safeguards the funds drivers, deliverers and restaurants earn on Uber platforms in Taiwan; and
2. Disburses the funds to drivers, deliverers and restaurants earning on Uber platforms in Taiwan.
Uber Taiwan will be looking to obtain its Electronic Payments Institution (EPI) licence via a new entity, Uber Payments Taiwan. You will join Uber Payments Taiwan as the Head of Compliance within the Executive Board and will manage a team of your own to tailor and implement a compliant AML/CTF framework to comply with local and underlying regulations for EPIs and support APAC markets in managing their financial risks.
Reporting into the Head of Compliance for Uber Payments Taiwan, this is a high-impact regulatory risk role to build and grow Uber’s licensed payments business and it’s Compliance framework which falls within the overall Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) framework for Taiwan and business models mapped to Uber’s payments strategy.
**What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points**
1. Enhance the current compliance framework with the Head of Compliance in alignment with applicable rules and regulations.
2. Develop compliance risk mitigation strategies and liaise with relevant stakeholders for execution.
3. Review new products and processes to ensure compliance risks and controls have been identified and adequately managed.
4. Identify emerging compliance risks and threats for Uber Payments Taiwan and propose adequate mitigation strategies to the Executive Management Board of Uber Payments Taiwan and the broader Taiwan business.
5. Provide recommendations on industry good practices related to compliance management.
6. Prepare and share reports with the Head of Compliance, the Executive Management and Supervisory Boards of Uber Payments Taiwan.
7. Partner with product, data science and engineering teams to identify and solve any payment compliance issues.
**Basic Qualifications**
1. 6+ years experience within banking, e-commerce and/or consulting in compliance preferred.
2. Learning team oriented and collaborative, with exceptional consensus building and team management skills to continuously develop and grow direct reports.
**Preferred Qualifications**
1. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively at multiple levels and across disciplines.
2. Strong critical thinking, organisational and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment whilst working with cross-functional stakeholders.
3. Based in Taiwan with flexibility to travel when required across geographies.
4. Impeccable written and verbal communications skills in English and Mandarin with the ability to translate, articulate and present highly technical and complex procedural recommendations, regulations, laws and policies to a variety of audiences.
5. Strong change management skills, adept at working in an environment of shifting priorities, constant technological changes and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
