Job Description
Amazon Payments is seeking a high-energy Senior Program Manager to drive operational excellence, financial controllership, and product innovation in our Latam Payments Business Operations team. As one of the world's largest e-commerce companies, Amazon processes billions of secure online transactions via various payment mechanisms, including credit cards, direct debit, and electronic gift certificates. This role requires a strong background in payments, financial operations, accounting, and tax expertise to ensure compliance and optimize financial and settlement processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing key payment partners, driving operational excellence, supporting new product launches, and overseeing payments controllership functions. This role requires a motivated self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. The successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, diving deep into all areas of the team to ensure exceptional customer experiences, operational efficiencies, and financial accuracy.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead, prioritize, and direct the team to meet and improve key payments and finance key financial events metrics and SLAs
• Identify and build key business relationships to understand challenges and opportunities
• Manage operational relationships with third-party payment partners (internal and external)
• Identify operational gaps in new offerings and set requirements for new projects to implement process improvements
• Resolve escalations and lead improvement projects to enhance customer experience and internal processes
• Partner with internal teams to support new payments products post-launch
• Build and analyze business and operational metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Oversee financial controllership, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting by collaborating with accounting and tax teams
• Develop and implement financial controls and risk management strategies to ensure regulatory and internal compliance

Basic Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree or certificate of completion of studies required
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, including significant experience in payments, financial controllership, accounting, and tax
- Fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience managing external relationships and cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills with advanced SQL and Excel knowledge
- Proven ability to identify and resolve data inconsistencies
- Experience in operational or customer-facing roles within financial services or e-commerce
- Program management experience and ability to drive issues to completion
- Strong business acumen and ability to work with large datasets

Preferred Qualifications


- Experience in the Payments industry or digital commerce
- Fluency in Portuguese
- Proven track record of process improvement and innovation in financial operations
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership
- Knowledge of tax implications for international payment transactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
