Sales Manager, Grocery & Retail - Independent Retail Expansion
Job Description
**About the Role**
Uber Eats is experiencing rapid growth in the Grocery & Retail segment, with a strategic focus on accelerating expansion through Independent retail partners. This area is core to our growth strategy, offering significant opportunities to launch and scale large retail brands across the French market.
We are looking for an ambitious Sales Manager & Mid-Market Account Executive who will report directly to the Head of Strategic Accounts. In this role, you will be instrumental in leading a team of Sales Representatives while also managing key client relationships, driving a bottom-up sales strategy across individual stores and negotiating at a national level.
This hybrid position requires a strong sales background and the ability to guide sales representatives throughout the entire sales cycle: from store-level engagement to securing master agreements. If you excel in both sales management and account executive with high-level-stakeholder-influencing responsibilities, and you’re ready to take on a role with significant impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
**What You'll Do**
- Drive Growth in Independent Retail Chains (~80%):
- Lead and mentor a team of Sales Representatives focused on expanding partnerships with individual stores under major independent retail banners.
- Establish clear sales processes, coach your team on best practices, and ensure robust pipelines aligned with aggressive growth targets.
- Collaborate closely with KAMs and AMs to ensure the consistent application of terms from master agreements across all stores, aligning with our strategic objectives.
- Provide direct feedback and strategic insights to the Head of Strategic Accounts to inform broader growth strategies.
- Mid-Market Account Executive (~20%):
- Act as the primary point of contact for Mid-market accounts, leading the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing national agreements.
- Implement pilot programs, oversee the launch of new stores, and optimize partner performance through marketing and operational support.
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, positioning Uber Eats as a trusted partner and maximizing their sales potential.
**What You’ll Need**
- **Sales Leadership**: At least 4+ years of experience in sales or account management, with a proven record of managing/mentoring sales teams and exceeding targets.
- **Retail Expertise**: Experience working with independent grocery or retail chains, with a strong understanding of bottom-up sales strategies and multi-store engagement.
- **Negotiation Skills**: Ability to lead complex negotiations and secure favorable terms in high-value deals.
- **Communication Skills**: Fluent in both French and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor pitches to diverse and high-level stakeholders.
- **Analytical Mindset**: Data-driven, with the ability to use insights to inform strategic decisions and assess partner performance.
- Entrepreneurial Attitude: Proactive, self-starter with a strong passion for sales and a drive to exceed growth targets.
- **Territorial Knowledge**: Proven experience managing a sales territory and building relationships across multiple regions.
- **Tech Proficiency**: Familiarity with Salesforce and CRM tools, with a track record of effectively managing complex sales pipelines.
**What We Offer**
- Strategic Impact: A high-visibility role with significant responsibility, directly supporting the growth of a critical vertical for Uber Eats in France.
- Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package with performance-based bonuses.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Access to Uber office perks, including free lunch, snacks, and beverages when on-site.
- Professional Development: Comprehensive onboarding and continuous training to support your career growth.
- Collaborative Environment: Work closely with a diverse team across functions, including Account Management, Operations, and Marketing.
- Flexible Work Model: Hybrid work arrangement, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility for optimal productivity.
