Job Description
The AGI-DS Localization team is seeking a Japanese native speaker to join our team as a language specialist. This role focuses on authoring, adapting and proofreading Japanese content that will help power Amazon AGI products including work in the areas of text annotation and guidelines. The successful candidate will also work with users of the content to understand pain-points and implement improvement programs.

Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Localization Specialist, you will:
- Work autonomously to coordinate multiple functions to achieve project milestones and goals
- Provide guidance on Japanese grammar considerations to internal customers
- Author, review, edit and score localized content into Japanese
- Create or improve processes to drive efficiencies within the team
- Create instructions for vendors from customer requirement meetings
- Provide feedback to vendors about quality and discuss ways to improve localized content
- Use software tools to perform quality checks and improve quality of localized content
- Create and present quality reports to stakeholders

The Senior Localization Specialist must have a passion for language, efficiency and accuracy as well as:
- Show proactive efforts in addressing issues and problems
- Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
- Willingness to support several projects at one time, and to accept re-prioritization as necessary

Basic Qualifications


- BA or BS degree in Linguistics or equivalent language-industry experience
- Native level fluency in Japanese
- Business level fluency in English at or above B2 level
- 2+ years of task coordination in the data annotation field
- 2+ years of experience with language authoring, localization or revision
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Careful attention to detail/highly organized

Preferred Qualifications


- BA/BS in Linguistics or equivalent practical experience in language processing
- Practical knowledge of data processing needs and trade-offs
- Working knowledge of CAT tools (preferably Memsource/ATMS)
