Senior Program Manager, Amazon Key - Last Mile New Initiatives

Job Description
This role offers great opportunities to drive Amazon's pioneering program, Amazon Key, for Japan customers by innovating and managing the end-to-end aspects of the program.

Amazon Key is a solution designed to make it more convenient for customers living in entrance security-gated buildings to receive Amazon packages. With permission from the building management company or owner, a dedicated device is installed in the apartment building. This allows Amazon drivers to unlock the entrance gate auto-lock system through a delivery app and enter the building, but only when they are carrying packages to be delivered to that specific apartment complex.

Historically, in apartment buildings with entrance security gated systems, there has been a challenge where deliveries couldn't be made if customers requested unattended delivery options (such as leaving packages at their front door) but were not at home, as delivery drivers couldn't pass through the entrance. With the introduction of Amazon Key, customers can now use unattended delivery options at any time. This eliminates the hassle for customers of waiting for packages or requesting redeliveries, while also reducing the burden on drivers and the environment.
