**About the Role**
As we expand Retail partnerships in Japan, we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Retail Commercial team.

We deliver groceries and everyday necessities from supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores and more, on-demand and within 30 minutes. This is a new, rapidly growing quick commerce market, and Uber Eats has a big role to play in its development in Japan.

**Your Impact in Role:**
You will play a critical role in the success of Grocery & Retail business, reporting directly to the Head of Commercial.
You will partner with the Partner Success managers to identify growth opportunities within our portfolio, deep-dive into performance of assigned accounts, develop deep understanding of the partner business and the industry and become an expert in Uber solutions for merchants.
You will leverage your analytical mindset, business acumen and industry knowledge to proactively build actionable insights, analyse performance of the initiatives and provide structured data-driven recommendations to the Commercial team.
This is an ideal role for someone who has E-commerce, Retail or CPG experience, proven track record in business analytics, operations or partner management roles, inquisitive mindset and excellent collaboration and communication skills.
**What You Will Do:**
- **Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations** to power joint business planning with priority merchants, creating sustainable growth strategies for Uber and partners
- **Analyse business trends and identify opportunities** - be a thought leader and partner to our Commercial team in growing sales and profitability of our multi-vertical portfolio
- **Evaluate impact of growth initiatives**\- provide clear guidance on impact of promotional, advertising, pricing, product and other initiatives to merchant performance
- **Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams**\- Work closely with strategy, operations, merchandising, last-mile and other departments to apply the best practices to merchant growth and development
**Basic Qualifications:**
- 7+ years of relevant experience in business analytics, operations, strategy, consulting or partner management roles supported by a history of clear results. Ideal candidate has prior experience in/with in the retail or consumer packaged goods sectors
- Experience in data extraction, SQL, financial modelling is required

- Strong data-oriented approach and strategy-building skills. Ability to analyze data independently, deliver actionable insights and business recommendations in multiple formats (data models, slides and presentations, word documents)
- Strong project and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, scope and deliver programs and projects independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills in Japanese and business English, with the ability to build rapport and engage with stakeholders at all levels inside and outside organization
- Action-driven and self-starter mindset
- Experience in data extraction, SQL, financial modelling is required
