We are looking for a highly motivated, curious, and passionate Senior Customer Market Insights Manager to make Amazon JP the ultimate shopping and more destination for customers in Japan and provide the best-in-class customer experience with attractive engaging programs with our internal talented stakeholders.
The Sr. Customer Market Insight Manager role plays a critical role in realising our missions, it is like a in-house business consultant with customer analysis speciality. Areas of responsibility include identifying and prioritising top business problems to solve through research. It is essential to translate the customer insights from Quantitative and Qualitative customer data into actionable next steps and engage with various marketing or product teams to further improve/accelerate our programs. More specific responsibilities include 1) strategically managing customer research to discover insights in various aspects of customer and business and 2) leveraging the insights and work with various stakeholders to ensure the discovered insights are actionable. This will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customer backwards approach through qualitative and quantitative research while championing the “voice of the customer” in our business decision making. This role owns delivery of high quality actionable research outputs and requires working extensively with stakeholders in defining and executing research studies, dissemination of research outputs, translating them into impactful actions while building a partner ecosystem to support research initiatives. The position reports to Head of Customer Insights and User Experience Strategy, JP Consumer Marketing.


Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify impactful and actionable research questions.
- Prioritize research studies based on analysis of customer problem/opportunity and business goals.
- Manage agencies to execute researches and produce insights.
- Identify the best methodology (qualitative and/or quantitative) based on questions, timeline and resourcing after distilling project goals and research questions into well thought-out research plans.
- Own the research process, including designing, scheduling, organizing, and executing studies with internal teams and external agencies.
- Perform thorough data analysis in order to create insightful and actionable findings.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leadership in both verbal and written form.
- Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a format that will support decision making and actions.
- Champion the “voice of the customer” in our business decision making, while proactively engaging with the key stakeholder groups in and outside of Japan advocating for the voice of JP customers on behalf of the entire JP business.
- Work closely with Business Intelligence Engineer/Data Scientist at Consumer Intelligence in order to seek a better understanding of customer segments, attributes and behavioral characteristics for our business growth.
- Proactively learn and share best practices, both within Japan and worldwide. Be in touch with research being conducted around the world and contribute Japan best practices.


About the team
Japan Consumer Intelligence and UX org is part of the Japan Prime and Customer Marketing. It is a team of Customer Insights researchers, UX Designers and Developers, and Product Managers and Marketing Managers.

By combining internal analytics with external research, design and development, we bring identify opportunities and translate them into solutions to meet our customers' ever evolving needs. We advocate for JP consumers’ needs and champion actions that make meaningful and noticeable differences in customer experiences.

We work with multiple JP stakeholders, and we fulfil our mission by:
1. Identifying large impactful and actionable insights through analytics and/or research
2. Enabling experimentation by creating tools and solutions that can be scaled and automated
3. Providing a unique Japanese market view of JP shoppers for Amazon JP
4. Being the center of excellence and bar raisers for JP research
5. Providing a robust repository for sharing JP analytics and research

Basic Qualifications


- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
- Fluent Japanese, business level English

Preferred Qualifications


- Experience creating and executing integrated marketing lead generation campaigns using tactics that include live or virtual events, webinars, email, lead nurture programs, and CRM/sales insights
- Experience with Salesforce and Tableau
