As Netflix continues its global expansion, we are looking for the best and brightest talent to play a key role in our growth. That’s where you come in!

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to provide tax compliance support for Latin America based out of our Mexico City office. You will report to the Tax Senior Manager, LATAM, in Mexico City, and will assist with all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance, electronic invoicing, and account reconciliations related to our LATAM activities.

You are a curious, self-starter who can collaborate effectively both within Tax and with your cross-functional partners. You possess direct and indirect tax technical and analytical skills, navigate competing deadlines easily, and are laser-focused on detail. You have a hands-on mentality, are eager to make an immediate impact on the team, and are constantly looking for ways to improve routines. You are also unusually responsible and are thrilled by the chance to join a high-performance Dream Team!

Responsibilities

  • Your primary responsibilities will be assisting with ongoing compliance requirements related to direct, indirect, and/or digital service taxation in the LATAM region (including Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and Perú, among others). Your day-to-day activities will include:
  • Performing month-end and quarter-end close activities, such as preparing journal entries, tax account reconciliations, and related tasks.
  • Gathering information and preparing reports to meet ongoing tax compliance obligations; managing filing deadlines with internal stakeholders and external advisors; driving filing processes to ensure on-time tax payments.
  • Performing tax compliance controls related to electronic invoicing (e.g., CFDI), such as reconciling and validating invoices in our ERP (revenue, expenses, payments, etc.).
  • Monitoring online tax mailboxes for messages from tax authorities; investigating discrepancies to help shape the business’ response to “invitation letters”; managing invoice cancellation / other routine requests.
  • Preparing and filing recurring VAT refund requests in countries across the region.
  • Assisting with automation projects to improve processes and achieve efficiencies.
  • Providing support during tax audits.

Requirements

  • You embrace and advocate the Netflix culture and our long-term view.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • You have 3+ years of relevant experience in Mexican tax compliance; experience in tax compliance in other LATAM countries is a plus, but not required.
  • You demonstrate strong communication skills and are able to cultivate positive relationships and rapport with other teams/departments.
  • You are open to feedback, and highly motivated to improve your current skill set in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are highly proficient in spreadsheets, ERP, CFDIs, and SAT systems; experience with Google applications is preferable; knowledge of Workday, Blackline, and other LATAM tax portal systems is a plus but not required.
  • You have a proven ability to work proactively, independently, and accurately to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You are never satisfied with the status quo; always mindful of how to improve existing processes.
  • You are fluent in Spanish and English.
