Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking for a Technical Writer to support writing, development, and editing of Standard Work documents.

AMZL delivery operations are on pace to become one of the largest parcel carriers in the world. Worldwide standard work is critical to accomplishing scale while delivering a world class customer experience. Our Global Benchmarking, Standards and Audit (GBSA) team defines and continually improves upon standard work processes. We are accountable for influencing business-critical decisions that enable scale and deliver consistent, industry leading, performance within our AMZL Operations.

Key job responsibilities
• Create clear and concise information to help associates, managers and delivery partners succeed
• Collaborate with fellow writers and internal business partners to develop strategy and content
• Participate in content and change management efforts and process development in support of team success, while also working independently on multiple projects
• Work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines, and will have experience in writing high-quality content
• Collaborate with product, program, and technical partners
• The role requires direct communication with customers and employees


A day in the life
• START is AMZL’s one-stop shop for knowledge, resources, and best practices.
• Technical Writers have the responsibility of publishing documents into START, and as such, documents must meet a defined set of criteria and standards.
• Technical Writers bar raise the documents available for AMZL by ensuring content published to START is clear, precise, easy to follow and easy to locate.
• As a Technical Writer, you will review Amazon Approvals and transfer any new documents or any amendments to existing documents from their drafted state and into START as a live document.
• Technical Writers will engage Process Path Owners and Change Management Stakeholders regularly to ensure the documents published into START satisfy the document owner and provide the most up to date Standard Work processes for AMZL Operators to reference.

The Global Benchmarking, Standards, and Audit (GBSA) team owns the worldwide scorecard, the creation and maintenance of standard work, the international discovery program, the progress audit program, and the calibration audits for the AMZL network.

Basic Qualifications


- Fluent level of Japanese verbal and written communication
- Fluent level of English verbal and written communication
- 3+ years of professional writing experience
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced studies in Journalism, Professional Writing, English, Technical Writing, Communications, or similar field, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding and experience using Microsoft Office

- Experience working in a global, cross-functional team
- Technical writing experience
- Internal communications experience
- Experience with content management systems
- Editorial background and skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to style guides
