We are looking for a talented and experienced Corporate Counsel to join our legal team at Amazon Türkiye. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to the business, providing strategic and pragmatic legal counsel on competition law, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that our operations comply with the evolving Turkish regulatory landscape while supporting Amazon’s growth and innovation.
As Corporate Counsel, you will serve as the primary point of contact for competition law matters and broader regulatory compliance issues. You will engage directly with regulatory authorities, manage commercial and corporate legal matters, and collaborate with Amazon’s global legal team to align local strategies with international best practices. The ideal candidate is a Turkish-qualified lawyer with significant experience in competition law, regulatory enforcement, and cross-border legal matters. Key job responsibilities
• Competition Law & Antitrust Compliance – Provide expert legal advice on Turkish competition law and antitrust topics. Counsel business teams on pricing, distribution, and commercial agreements to ensure compliance with competition regulations.
• Regulatory Engagement – Act as the primary legal contact with the Turkish Competition Authority and other regulatory bodies. Manage inquiries, investigations, dawn raids, and merger control filings as necessary.
• Corporate & Regulatory Compliance – Oversee general corporate legal matters and ensure compliance with e-commerce, consumer protection, advertising, and data privacy regulations.
• Commercial Contracts & Negotiations – Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including, vendor, seller, supplier, distribution, and partnership contracts, ensuring compliance with Turkish law.
• Product Counseling – Provide end-to-end counseling to new tools, products and business initiatives in Turkey.
• Policy Development & Training – Design and implement internal compliance policies and training programs to strengthen competition law awareness and risk management among business teams.
• Cross-Border Legal Coordination – Work closely with Amazon’s AMET legal and business teams to ensure alignment on legal strategies and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
• Dispute Resolution & Risk Management – Handle pre-litigation disputes, coordinate with external counsel when necessary, and support the business in resolving legal risks effectively.
• Regulatory Monitoring & Strategic Advisory – Stay ahead of legal and regulatory developments in Turkey and advise senior management on potential business impacts.
Basic Qualifications
• Law degree (LL.B. and/or J.D.) and membership in the Turkish Bar (Avukatlık Ruhsatı).
• 8+ years of post-qualification experience in competition law, regulatory compliance, and corporate law.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish competition law and regulatory enforcement.
• Experience in handling cross-border legal matters and working with multinational teams.
• Expertise in risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Turkish and English.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house counsel at a multinational company, preferably in e-commerce, technology, retail or digital markets.
• Experience managing regulatory inquiries, investigations, or competition law compliance programs.
• Familiarity with consumer protection, advertising, and data privacy laws in Turkey.
• High degree of independence, initiative, and strategic thinking.
• Strong business acumen and ability to provide practical, risk-based legal solutions.
• Ability to influence and partner effectively with cross-functional teams across different regions.
