The Data Scientist, Sales Operations plays a critical role in leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques, generating commercial insights to enhance sales processes and accelerate sales growth. This role encompasses ownership of evolving topics such as data governance, advanced analytics and reporting, automation, process optimization, and integration with new tools and technologies as well as user experience enhancement. The Data Scientist is part of the HQ Sales Operations team and collaborates closely within HQ and with the global sales teams, business leaders throughout the organization and other relevant stakeholders. This role is uniquely positioned to drive significant value for the organization by harnessing the power of data and analytics to optimize processes, enhance decision-making, and ultimately, achieve business objectives.
Areas of responsibility:
- Conduct sophisticated data analysis to derive predictive insights from sales data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Establish reporting analytics, KPIs and Dashboards of commercial performance
- Develop our advanced analytics concept, understand data specific requirements, and identify analytics driven needs.
- Gather, structure, clean and maintain sales information in collaboration with the global sales organization and HQ stakeholders.
- Work with domain experts and data teams to ensure the quality, security, and compliance of sales data across systems through robust data governance practices and protocols.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance stakeholders' trust in sales data, ensuring seamless access, usability, and reliability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization within analytics processes, streamlining workflows and enabling data driven decision making.
- Take ownership of evolving topics as well as holistic initiatives and programs in the aforementioned fields
Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in the software/tech industry.
- Experience in leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques in the field of Sales
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence.
- Proven experience in machine learning, solution design architecture, cloud solution design, data engineering, data governance
- Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills and an entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English
Desired systems/tools skills:
- Strong knowledge in MS data analysis tools (Power BI) including set-up and development of Dashboards
- Know-how on Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) of Data in enterprise environments, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), as well as familiarity of data architecture requirements and conceptual approaches for deploying algorithmic solutions in productive environments
- Skilled in applying algorithmic models/generative AI and well acquainted with the properties and limits of a diverse set of established as well as state-of-the-art models, as well as validating the model results against the stated business objectives
- Understand the mathematics/optimization behind machine learning algorithms
- Experience with cloud technologies: AWS Sagemaker, Lambda etc.
- Abreast of new technologies in artificial intelligence and digitalization and seeking creative ways of applying emerging and state-of-the-art algorithmic approaches in real world business applications
