Embrace the challenge and make history with Amazon’s International Public Policy and Government Affairs Team. The Manager will join a dynamic team that works across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Asia Pacific, in support of Amazon’s global consumer and digital businesses. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers. The International Public Policy team works with a wide range of national, local, and supranational policymakers, industry organizations, and non-governmental organizations across policy issues spanning the consumer and commercial environment - including but not limited to digital technology, consumer affairs, connectivity, economic development, e-commerce exports, logistics, devices, and tax.

This role will support advocacy and outreach to policymakers for Project Kuiper, Amazon’s initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

The Manager will work closely with cross-functional Kuiper teams including Regulatory, Business, and Legal teams, to manage senior policymaker engagement to support Kuiper’s country entry and business needs across the European Union, including defining strategy, executing advocacy campaigns, and representing the company with policymakers, consultants, and trade associations. The Manager will also be able to immediately and directly enhance Amazon’s advocacy on a broad range of telecoms and space-related policy issues. The position may be based in Brussels or Paris.

Basic Qualifications


1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
2. 10+ years dealing with the international legislative and regulatory policy process, preferable within the telecoms, connectivity, space, or technology industries.
3. 10+ years of experience in advocacy and using spoken and written arguments to persuade and inform.
4. Candidate should be fluent in English, both written and orally

Preferred Qualifications


1. Advanced degree in relevant field.
2. Availability to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate.
3. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately (both written and oral).
4. Strong knowledge of connectivity/telecoms, spectrum, space, or other regulated industry policy issues.
5. Candidates will be able to demonstrate their experience through previous work within companies, consultancies, trade associations, the government, or equivalent organizations.
6. Sets a course in the face of ambiguity to deliver independently, asking the right questions, clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately. Self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.
7. Ability to work across a highly dispersed global team, and to be a highly collaborative team player.
8. Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at all corporate and political levels. Ability to work with technical and specialized teams to distill factual, relevant and easily understandable talking points and other messaging, and persuasively deliver it to relevant audiences.
9. Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity, with strongest professional reputation in the industry.
10. Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal and external customers. You can think critically, process data from multiple sources, forecast potential scenarios, prioritize based on probability and desired outcome, and recommend a best course of action.
11. Ability to influence, negotiate with, and effectively persuade others is required. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment / decision-making skills, and political acumen and awareness.
