As a Electrical engineer in our team, you will be responsible for the product electrical design, development and quality of consumer electronic products. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast paced start-up like environment and want to invent the future. In the role, you will wear many hats in working on the system design down to quick turn prototypes, manufacturing production process, testing, and quality control. You will play a role in defining processes and methods to improve the productivity of the entire team. You will identify and initiate investigations of production technologies, prototype and test solutions for product features. Design and validate product designs that deliver an exceptional user experience.
You will work in a small EE team to create a new experience and work with the team at large to ensure a functional and beautiful product. To be successful you need to be highly motivated, understand how to solve problems and dive deep while delivering to the highest standards.
You will demonstrate a strong working knowledge of product electrical, with expertise in systems integration; the desire to learn from new challenges and the problem solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive and experienced team. Candidates must show a hands-on passion for their work and be able to communicate their ideas and concepts both verbally and visually. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to integrate feedback and to respond quickly to changing contexts and work environments. In this role, you will:
• Develop engineering requirement specification
• Work with multiple discipline engineering to deliver good electrical design.
• Support positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives
• Provide cross-functional program integration support to ensure team success
• Lead contract manufactures deliver quality work the whole product development cycle
• Work with contract manufacturing partners and cross functional team through the design-for-manufacturing process and engineering verification stages required to move the product from prototype to production.
• Apply technical expertise to problem solving throughout product lifecycle.
• Coach or mentor junior electrical engineers.
• International travel and domestic travel will be required
Basic Qualifications
- • MSEE with at least 5+ years of experience or BSEE with at least 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering in consumer product or power product.
- • At least 2+ years of experience of leading and working with contract manufactures for all stages of product development.
- • At least 3+ years of experience with system-level design including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, and debug.
- • Practical experience in AC-DC design, with expertise in various topologies such as flyback, buck, buck-boost, PFC, and LLC.
- • Experienced in power electronic product (AC-DC/DC-DC) design including schematic, PCB layout, component selection.
- • Experienced in AC-DC/DC-DC EE validation test, be able to come out the test plan, review the result and fix the issue.
- • Familiar with safety and compliance requirement including IEC, UL for power products.
- • Knowledge of processor architecture, digital circuit design and various communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, etc.
- • Knowledge of physical failure analysis techniques for electrical failure analysis
- • English and Mandarin language skills
Preferred Qualifications
- • Strong interpersonal skills and capability to manage and drive various cross-functional team members
- • Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus)
- • Experience with Ethernet communication interface
- • Understanding of high-speed design and noise suppression techniques
- • Knowledge on solar battery charge system
- • Hands on experience with signal integrity tools
- • Experience in designing products for wireless networks (GSM, UMTS, LTE), GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth wireless systems
- • Strong communication and documentation skills and ability to operate autonomously
- • Complete understanding of manufacturing process including DFM and DFT for consumer products
