**Senior Account Executive, Retail and New business (Uber Direct)**

**About The Team**

Uber Direct is an innovative 'Delivery as a Service' product, empowering merchants to utilize Uber Eats' extensive delivery network for seamless last-mile services. This platform connects orders from merchant apps and websites with our delivery partners, offering a streamlined solution for businesses. Uber Direct stands poised to become a significant contributor to our portfolio, representing a vital service for our existing marketplace partners and new business.

**About The Role**

As an Account Executive, Retail and New Business, you will play a pivotal role in our transition to a new business model of delivery in Retail and New Business (outside of food and grocery industries). This position is crucial as we expand our delivery platform API solution to major retailers, aiming to make a significant social impact and cultivate a new norm in delivery services.

**Key Responsibilities** **:**

**Strategic Pursuit and Acquisition:**

- Identify and pursue retail partnerships specifically for our delivery platform API solution, focusing on non-food sectors; understand key industry challenges/needs and develop solutions to improve our service.
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies and business models tailored to the retail industry, fostering strong customer relationships through long deal cycles with potential merchants.
- Partner with  major retailers  to shape the new norm of delivery services, driving significant social impact .

**Account Ownership and Management:**

- Manage and nurture relationships with acquired retail partners, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and success with Uber Direct's solutions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing dedicated support and addressing any operational challenges.

**Collaborative Sales Process:**

- Lead and coordinate the end-to-end sales process for Uber Direct prospects, including qualification, education, pricing/quoting, contract negotiation, and closing deals.
- Ensure a seamless sales journey by collaborating with internal teams such as Product, Operations, Legal, and others to meet merchant needs and build new capabilities.

**Cross-Functional Partnership:**

- Work closely with multiple functions to develop and deliver innovative solutions that address the unique requirements of retail merchants.
- Build strong relationships with enterprise customers in the E-commerce, B2B, and C2C sectors, leveraging cross-functional expertise to enhance service offerings.

**Market Expertise:**

- Serve as the subject matter expert for the Uber Direct product, with a deep understanding of the retail market and its specific challenges and opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to other segment teams, helping them close contracts and achieve their sales targets.

**Strategic Relationship Building:**

- Build and maintain strategic relationships with decision-makers at key retail organizations, positioning Uber Direct as a trusted partner in their business growth.
- Utilize strong negotiation skills and business acumen to secure the best deals that align with both client and Uber's needs.

**Merchant Insights and Product Improvement:**

- Collect and analyze merchant insights to drive continuous improvements in Uber Direct's product offering, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the retail industry.
- Provide feedback to internal teams to enhance product features and service capabilities.

**Performance Tracking:**

- Regularly update Salesforce (SFDC) with accurate opportunity statuses, sales forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Participate in quarterly business reviews to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and adjust strategies as needed.

**Basic Qualifications** **:**

- Proven sales and commercial strategy expertise, with the ability to analyze sales data and key metrics and translate insights into actionable plans.

- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills, adept at securing the best deals for both clients and Uber.

- Exceptional communication skills, adept at engaging with various stakeholders including senior client representatives and internal technical teams.

- A proactive approach, ready to take initiative and drive results.

- Demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges and ability to solve complex problems.

- Fluency in English and Japanese, catering to business requirements.

**Preferred Qualifications** **:**

- Analytical abilities to drive decision-making.

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing large enterprise accounts, preferably in the retail, consulting, or technology sectors.

- Strategic thinking with a focus on not just closing deals, but also on helping merchants grow their business with new delivery capabilities.
