Sr. Product Manager, JP Ring, Amazon Devices
Job Description
Three years after its business launch, Amazon's first party security brand "Ring" is entering a new phase in JP. We are seeking a hands-on Sr. Product Manager who can perform proactive and ambitious product management with both logical thinking and creativity, not only for sales growth but also for profit expansion in line with business strategy. The ideal candidate will be solution-focused and analytical, an expert practitioner in business planning, and have a strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. On top, this role will actively drive PDCA cycles, effectively collaborate with stakeholders, and consistently deliver results which has strong impact on brand growth.
Key job responsibilities
- Setting and Achieving Sales and Profit Targets for the brand: Takes responsibility for managing budget creation and execution processes, sets sales and profit targets for assigned categories based on information from internal and external stakeholders, and implements plans to achieve these targets
- Analysis of Sales Data and competitive landscape, Strategic Planning, Implementation, and Improvement: Analyzes sales data and market trends to develop sales strategies, implements these strategies, and makes necessary improvements as needed
- Lead annual planning and revision plans in coordination with relevant Ring departments.
- Be both accurate and forward looking in demand planning by diving deep in sales trend
- Lead PDCA cycles for promotions on Amazon.co.jp to maximize sales while maintaining brand value. This includes effectively utilizing sales events and implementing brand-specific promotional events
- Lead performance marketing to accelerate sales, leveraging acquisition ads and CRM mail
- Gain trust and establish partnerships with other Amazon internal departments within Japan and implement collaborations and co-marketing initiatives that contribute to long-term brand growth

- Monitor daily sales to identify risks and opportunities
- Stay both logical and creative on potential opportunities
- Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty for business growth
- Conduct meetings in both English and Japanese with various stakeholders across domestic and international locations to accelerate initiatives that lead to future business growth
- Due to Ring's globally distributed organizational structure, meetings with overseas stakeholders may occur early in the morning or late at night while you have relative flexibility to control your own work rhythm and schedule

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience as a product manager or owner
- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Project Management: Capability to manage complex projects involving external partners and company-wide stakeholders.
- Logical Thinking and Analysis: Ability to think logically and quickly conduct accurate analysis and verification of market trends and sales data based on self-generated hypotheses.
- Planning and Development: Maintain a constant awareness of improvement and innovation, capable of creating efficient and high-quality plans. Also able to develop strategies from new perspectives based on industry best practices, rather - Problem-Solving: Ability to grasp market and sales trends quickly and accurately, collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and related departments to solve complex problems while taking calculated risks.
- Execution and Initiative: Strong commitment to achieving goals, ability to make accurate judgments from a company-wide perspective, and take dynamic action while maintaining clear priorities.
- Negotiation Skills: Ability to build trust with business partners and successfully conduct negotiations from a medium to long-term perspective, understanding counterparts' positions, situations, and needs while extracting useful information even in complex situations.
- Communication Skills: Ability to maintain smooth communication with senior management both internally and externally, in addition to external negotiations.
- PC Skills: Proficiency in Excel (including functions such as v-lookup), Word/PowerPoint document creation skills.
- English Proficiency: Capability to regularly communicate both in writing (email, reports) and verbally (meetings, phone calls, video conferences).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Experience in areas such as market research, statistics, finance or qualitative/quantitative research
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience owning technology products
