Job Description
**About the Role**

We are looking for someone to work on our Government Affairs & Public Policy team based in São Paulo. You will report directly to the Head of Public Policy in Brazil and impact our operations in the region.

**What the Candidate Will Do**

- Supporting Uber’s Government Affairs & Policy team for the interactions with Local Government, States, and Municipalities across the country.
- Establishing Uber’s brand and profile with policy makers—including governments, third parties, and academics.
- Working to ensure that the regulatory framework in the region supports ridesharing apps like Uber and its diverse mobility products and services like Moto, HCV, UberX, and beyond.

**Basic Qualifications**

- A minimum of 6 years in government affairs is expected, but we will consider candidates with less experience or transitioning ‌careers, if they meet our other requirements.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, both oral and written.
- **To be a self-starter:** Stuff changes fast in our world, so you’ll need to be highly adaptable as well as calm under pressure.
- **To be a great advocate:** You’ll need the intellectual firepower to grasp complex policy issues as well as the ability to articulate clearly and simply how apps like Uber can help improve transportation for everyone—both orally and in writing.
- **To be a strategic thinker and a great executioner:** that means having a bias for action in everything you do—and a willingness to engage in debates that can often become heated—or to put together proactive strategies involving passengers, drivers, and third parties that demonstrate there’s a better alternative to a current and outdated proposal.
- **To be a team player:** We’re looking for well-organized people who enjoy working with others to get stuff done—and who can deal with the ambiguity that sometimes comes from working cross-functionally

**Preferred Qualifications**

- Experience in the fields of mobility, the digital economy, sustainability and future of work legislation is an advantage.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.
